| GFX International has invested in an Eagle, the flatbed inkjet press designed specifically for the screen market and distributed worldwide by Sericol Imaging. The press is to be used for short run screen print production, as well as supporting the company's existing digital department. Vice president of GFX International Mark Taylor says: " We have been partners with Sericol and using their Screen products for many years. When they introduced us to the Eagle we were immediately drawn to the technology because of its ability to print on a wide variety of rigid substrates. Our business demands this and I believe we will be able to extend our capabilities further with the Eagle. The production speeds it can achieve and the outstanding print quality impressed us. The fact that it uses UV cured inks also gave the Eagle huge appeal as it gives us the opportunity to tie in with our existing printing capabilities for spot colours and clearcoats." ![]() GFX International is a retail graphics solution provider that specialises in the point of purchase area. Its core business is in screen-printing but the company has moved towards a complete solutions provider. GFX International formed in 1989 and now employs 150 staff. "The Eagle's ability to achieve edge to edge printing eliminates the need for cutting after printing, and with this technology I feel we will be able to expand the products and services that we are offering our customers. Its impressive colour reproduction capabilities mean we can produce both proofs and samples on the Eagle which will save us both time and money, " says Mr Taylor. Mr Taylor anticipates the run lengths on the Eagle will be anything from five to 50 and it will be used to print on a variety of substrates including: paper boards, styrene, coroplast, acrylic, expanded PVC, polycarbonate, banner stock and some limited cloths and canvas. Mr Taylor says: "We knew Sericol only worked with top rate companies; Inca Digital has proven that again. Several other companies approached me with their equipment but none could show me the variety and quality of samples that I had seen from the Eagle. The proof is in the print and no one else came close." Visit their website for more information |
