At the SGIA Show in St Louis at the beginning of November, Sericol
ran the Eagle flatbed printer to a continuous crowd of visitors. Running
regularly around 5 hours a day throughout the show on a wide variety
of materials, the machine produced in excess of 1500 sq metres of
print samples over the four day exhibition.

Only the second time it was shown at an exhibition in the USA, many
of the vistors to the Show had not seen an Eagle in action before
and were impressed with the speeds being achieved. It demonstrated
the range of print modes available on the equipment from the fastest,
4 pass mode through to the high quality 16 pass option allowing people
to decide for themselves which would be most applicable for their
business.

Sericol's sales force worked flat out to deal with the enquiries from
interested companies, both pre-arranged meetings and some who had
come to the show to buy a four colour screen press, but suddenly realised
what a digital press such as the Eagle could offer to their business.

Orders have been brisk since the Show, with four received in the first
couple of days and a number of others in the final stages of negotiation.
Inca and Sericol are delighted with the forward order book on all
of the machines in the range. 'It is now looking extremely healthy
for us in 2003' says Inca's marketing manager, Heather Kendle. 'Columbia
has enabled us to target the 10ft market which is important in the
USA and this will help us to close some deals that we were unable
to achieve with the Eagle.'
